The babies are coming! I know six babies that will be arriving this year that are knit worthy. I’ve decided on sweaters for three of them and hats (and maybe booties) for the other three.
In preparation, I queued a bunch of baby hats on Ravelry, as you do. I decided that I should test drive the patterns before making hats for the expected babies. To do this, I’m using purple yarn and I will donate them to the Click for Babies campaign to spread awareness of the Period of Purple Crying.
The first hat I knit is the Purple and White Pear Baby Hat. I used Melissa Thomson’s Golden Pear pattern and Red Heart Soft Touch in Grape and Bernat Satin in Silk. This hat is very cute. It is also very small and the fair isle sections do not allow for a lot of stretch. If I make it again I will add some stitches so it comes out bigger.
